8 WAYS BUSY WOMEN STAY PRODUCTIVE

Did you know that actively staying productive paves the way for success, especially as a busy woman who lives a fast paced life. I say this because productivity means that you are more organised and when you are more organised your focus is clear, you are able to get things done in a timely manner, and overall, you are able to achieve the goals that you have set.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day, however sometimes the only difference is how we make use of our time. The Bible teaches us to number our days so that we can grow in wisdom (Psalm 90:12). This means realising the brevity of life. We do not know what could happen from one day to the next. Therefore we need to be wise in what we spend our time doing.

As you can see, being productive is important. If staying productive is something that you struggle with, keep reading, this blog post is for you.

1. Set A Daily Routine

Having a good daily routine is important for productivity as it helps you to keep on track. Having enough sleep, eating well and exercising are just some of the things that you can incorporate into your routine that can help boost productivity as essentially you will feel more energised. You will then be able to plan and prioritise effectively throughout the day.

2. Plan Tasks Ahead

Always plan tasks ahead! I have found that taking 15-30 minutes to plan the night before, saves time the following day. I can also approach the new day more confidently and be more productive.

3. Make A To-Do List

Once you have established your routine make a to-do-list to ensure that everything pertaining to the task is covered. Please ensure that your to-do-list is realistic as the key is to make it achievable. Your to-do-list will ultimately provide a road map for your day to be as productive as possible.

4. Break Your Goals Down

Set goals, but also break them down into smaller tasks as they will appear more approachable. You will find that you achieve more because the smaller tasks will seem more manageable and will motivate you to complete the next one.

5. Stop Multi-tasking

Did you know that studies actually show that you are less productive when you do multiple things at once? An important aspect of being productive is to stay focused. Doing too many things at the same time can be detrimental to your focus, increasing the risk of mistakes. I would advise that you focus on one thing at a time as you will gain better results.

6. Take Breaks

Taking regular breaks increases productivity as you are giving yourself time to recharge. Taking a walk or having a nap will give your brain some downtime, again allowing you to be more focused on achieving your set goals.

7. Be Consistent

Consistency is really the key to success. Without consistency things just won’t get done. Therefore you have to consistently apply yourself to your goals because this is where you will achieve what you have set out to do, as well as being like the many others who are doing great things. They say that success does not come from what you do occasionally, but what you do consistently.

8. Make It Fun

Lastly, make it fun. You can do this by maybe listening to some of your favourite music to set the tone. If you work as part of a team, do a team building activity or you can reward yourself for all the hard work you have done. You don’t want to feel as though you are working. People put more into what they find fun, so smile, have fun, smash out your goals and start making big things happen.

  1. I love the practicality of this post. I must confess that I just said to myself yesterday to stop multitasking, as I realise I get less done. Focus on one thing as you said and move through the list..Timely post for me and and great reminder.

The list from the night before or two has always worked best for me.

    Thanks Nkay

  3. Yes I definitely find that having a to do list helps and I can tick these off as I go along gives a sense of accomplishment. The multi-tasking point is also truu I still love a bit of multi tasking but only with tasks that dnt require too much thought.
